Pool Day 2

The pool people started today!   Yeah!!  It is hot, hot, hot.

It is 4:00 as I started this post and as you can see, it is 92 degrees and see where the heat index is 109.  I want a swimming pool!

There have been two men here today working in this heat.  They placed pipes down into the ground about ten feet. Horizontal pipes a foot in the ground are connecting 6 of these pipes that go deep into the ground around the perimeter of the pool.

This is where it goes down into the ground.  I believe there are 3 or 4 spots that go down into the water table.

Then it is all connected to the pump which will pump out the water that is in the ground.   It will run the whole time that the pool is being put in so that the ground water does not cause the sides to cave in.

And the water is pumped into the pine tree area in the back.  I think they will not return until Monday.   Monday is DIG THE HOLE DAY!  We have hired a fence company to put the fence in the back.   It is just too much work, too hot for us to do it.

This is one of my favorite Florida plants - Crape Myrtle.  It comes in different colors and flowers into late fall.  They can grow as high as trees OR you can keep them cut back.

Here is a close up of the flower.  Aren't they beautiful?  Just one of the joys of living in the south!
